"Funny!"

submission: :: Achievements ::
date: May 6, 2009

This was brilliant and although I get satisfaction out of every single insignificant virtual achievement I get, I agree wholeheartedly and consider hunting for those impossible ones that take you forever to get a considerable waste of time. Turning on your console, well now that should definitely become an achievement! Everyone should get an achievement for turning on their console!

: Drugs In Your Head :

"Nice animation!"

date: May 6, 2009

The animation wasn't as bad as you made it sound, I liked it, but there wasn't really a lot of animation now was there? The monologue was very good though, seeing as this is definitely a touchy subject for me. I disagreed with mostly everything the grey thingy was babbling about (personally I found the whole thing ignorant and naive), but he did keep me listening, so good job for charisma and style!

How would you feel getting arrested for drinking a cup of coffee?

A Bad Taste of Pico

"Best of Pico Day 2009!"

date: May 1, 2009

Wow, this impressed the hell outta me!
The gameplay is smooth and simple and it never got boring. The difficulty is spot-on and I love all the weird enemies. There is just enough of a storyline and the art is really cool! A Bad taste of Pico is a brilliant flash game and one of the best free 2d sidescrollers I've played on the web.

I would have liked to see more bosses though. The endboss was a bit of a disappointment, except for the boss at the bitter end, he was ridiculously hard and hilarious :) Thanks for the awesome rollercoaster ride Joelasticot, Hopeku and UltraPitchFork. You guys did an amazing job!

Thanks. The boss was coded at 1AM on the 30th (which happenned to be the deadline) so yeah, that's why it's pretty short and easy :p

Darnell's Recount

"Trippy, clumsy and fun!"

submission: Darnell's Recount
date: April 30, 2009

The art and total weirdness of this game makes Darnell's Recount memorable and something I'll come back to. I liked the combo system although the gameplay did feel a bit clumsy, but that could well just suit with the rest of the game's tripped-out style. The secrets areas are cool and the music goes nicely with all the rest. Great game CZAR ZEK and VICTOR! I had a ball with this one, and will come back to play it again later on. Nice work!

Hitstick 2

"Completely incomplete with awesome potential"

submission: Hitstick 2
date: April 29, 2009

Hitstick 2 is very stylishly done and plays very well. I usually dont like these kind of games, but found myself enjoying it a lot for the few seconds it lasted. The game gives you the idea that there's more to it, but there's not. There's only one mission in this game and it's extremely short. The art style is smooth and it looks professional, but art can only take you so far. The game literally lasted only a few seconds, the only thing that soothes the player for having to play such a short game is giving out cheats in order to play the same few seonds with invincibility or faster shooting etc...

Nowhere does it say this is a demo either, so I assume that this is supposed to be the final and complete version. Very disappointing. I liked the weapons and the pick-ups as well as the way the game played. Would have been nice to be able to duck behind objects to dodge bullets, but the most important improvement that could be made is to add more missions. Hitstick 2 has so much potential to be awesome, but it falls short with the option to actually play the game more than a few seconds.

I would really like to give this game a higher score, but it just feels incomplete... very, very incomplete. Sorry, but I can't rate this any higher than 5 out of 10.

Barbarian Bob [Remake]

"Great game! But there's a few glitches..."

date: April 24, 2009

Hey! I fell in love with Barbarian Bob back in 2005 and it's one of the games that inspired me to become a flash game designer. Thanks for re-doing this :)

I played it on easy but still couldnt get very far. The reason is that quite often I just can't shield. I'll have to do a 360 first before I can block again. I'd get hit once or twice everytime because of this. It happened to me with almost every enemy. Very frustrating. My game ended when I fell off a cliff :( I clicked on the continue button, but for some reason poor Bob appears off screen probably below the screen somewhere and just falls to his death again, because I'll automatically end up at the game over screen once more. I tried this a couple of times, but poor Bob just wont appear on a stable platform to continue from...

I like the new backgrounds and it's also nice to see the old ones there as well :) The music is funny and weird, I like it :)

Nevermore 3

"I love Newvermore!"

submission: Nevermore 3
date: April 6, 2009

I remember the first Nevermore. I immedietely fell in love with it and it's one of the games that got me into flash. The art is brilliant and the gamplay smooth. The story and atmosphere are both very mysterious and appealing. I love it!

I wish the world was a bit more interactive and that Nevermore 3 was submitted under Adamskii's name as well and not just under 2DPLAY (the sponsors), because Adamskii made this and deserves a lot of credit.

Childsplay

"Very nice!"

submission: Childsplay
date: April 3, 2009

Had a funny ending :)
What is up with these people getting confused over the whole hamster thing? It's as clear as daylight! Anyway, nice animation and execution. You're right, sound could have been better.

Why is the filesize so big? Is it the 3d stuff you imported into flash or what? I don't see how the sounds could have cranked it up to 7.1mb cuz frankly there's just not that much sound in the movie unless the music track playing in the background is like 5 mins long and we only hear a few seconds of it, but I think it's a short loop right? I'm rambling. Nice animation!

Author's Response:

thanks :) well i used After effects to combine the 3d and flash, and then imported the movie to flash again so i could make a swf. thats why it gets a bit bigger than regular flash files. but if i take down the quality even more, it will not look good.
the music is also comped in after effects.

BO: Secret of Steel Demo

"Awesomeness!"

date: March 17, 2009

I loved the contest of might, it is just brilliant! Picking up barrels and throwing them at your enemies is really fun and the ability to slash incoming arrows with your sword is nice as well. The art itself wasn't particularly fantastic, but the animation totally made up for it. The jumping looks funny though, but it didn't bother me that much. I love it that you can play the same levels as many times as you want and that you can exit a level anytime as well :)

Suggestions:
- I strongly suggest making separate buttons for the two different attacks.
Arrow keys to move, A = quick attack and S = heavy attack.
A and S can then both be for picking up barrels and throwing them.
- Maybe an option to block as well?
- An upgrade system (maybe asking too much)
- Different kinds of weapons.

CANT WAIT FOR THE FULL GAME!
