Oooh I like this! Quite an original, refreshing and relaxing puzzle game. Very nice :)

The artwork, atmosphere and music in this game are all brilliant. It's more like an interactive linear story than a proper game to me and, like you said, very short, but I still enjoyed it very much! The whole story/plot is a mystery to me and I'm not sure what is going on in this game, but it added to the intrigue. Hopefully things will become clearer in later chapters.

All in all, the artwork and atmosphere kept me glued to the screen. Great job! Looking forward to seeing more of this :)

Thanks a lot! I just played your Theropods game, it's really good! Especially the beginning, it felt really live and intense. Would love to collaborate with you guys in the future! :)

This game is so cute and the atmosphere, gameplay, music, story and overall execution is great, but I seem to have the same problem as others where I couldn't continue quite early on in the game. In the room where you have to build a bridge, I cannot go around my bed to the next "area". This might be because that's actually as far as the game goes? Is this game unfinished? I guess this is the case since it was for Ludum Dare, but I just wish you would have mentioned in the Author Comments that this game is unfinished.

Still, very simple gameplay, but I enjoyed it :)

Fun game! A bit too hard for me. I played until I obtained the bodyslam move and then it just got too much for my brain and fingers to compute! :D ...anyway, really smooth gameplay, nice sound fx and quirky main character. I like that the game gets quite badass with shooting those robots etc. I wonder how much further it goes, but I shouldn't play any more for now to prevent frustration from kicking into rage :P ...I might play it some more some other day. Great job! I love all of these weekly games of yours and I'm so impressed with how polished they all are. Amazing job!

This game is so addictive and fun! I love how everything just comes together: The fluid gameplay, the colours, the art, the music... and did I mention the gameplay? It's so smooth and every movement in the game feels just right. I had some frustration with the ladders tho, but other than, awesome little minigame :)

This game is fun! ...especially the 2 player mode. So far I've had a blast playing against my girlfriend, although she usually kicks my ass! :P The gameplay is super simple, yet challenging, and it's fun to come up with different strategies for all the different levels and weapons. Sometimes it can be pretty hilarious when your opponent falls off platforms and the way they die etc. I especially like the little laughter coming from the characters when they get a critical hit or when they win.

I just wish there were power-ups, upgrades and item drops in the game, but I've noticed that you get all of that on the iPhone version? Anyway, good job! This is a fun little game. Oh and the music is pretty cool too :)

Amazing! Love the animation and all the other jazz. Very unexpected with all kinds of pleasantries :) Wouldn't really call it a game, but for 4 days this is a masterpiece!

Thanks mate!

Nice for a first game!

This game needs sound. Other than that, it's a pretty fun time waster. It would also have been nice if you did not have any lives, but would just have to restart the level when you die. It got too annoying having to start from the very beginning and to do everything all over again, so I quit...

Mindem responds:

Thanks. I will keep that in mind

Best of Pico Day 2009!

Wow, this impressed the hell outta me!
The gameplay is smooth and simple and it never got boring. The difficulty is spot-on and I love all the weird enemies. There is just enough of a storyline and the art is really cool! A Bad taste of Pico is a brilliant flash game and one of the best free 2d sidescrollers I've played on the web.

I would have liked to see more bosses though. The endboss was a bit of a disappointment, except for the boss at the bitter end, he was ridiculously hard and hilarious :) Thanks for the awesome rollercoaster ride Joelasticot, Hopeku and UltraPitchFork. You guys did an amazing job!

Joelasticot responds:

Thanks. The boss was coded at 1AM on the 30th (which happenned to be the deadline) so yeah, that's why it's pretty short and easy :p

Trippy, clumsy and fun!

The art and total weirdness of this game makes Darnell's Recount memorable and something I'll come back to. I liked the combo system although the gameplay did feel a bit clumsy, but that could well just suit with the rest of the game's tripped-out style. The secrets areas are cool and the music goes nicely with all the rest. Great game CZAR ZEK and VICTOR! I had a ball with this one, and will come back to play it again later on. Nice work!
