Awesome! I can't wait for it to come out. Does it have a good story like the The Rise of King?

Thanks! I don't want to give anything away about the storyline just yet. Wether it is good or not will be for you to decide when you play it...

If gameplay is as smooth as the graphics, I'm in on this one. :D

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I guess it depends on people's computers. I don't own the best computer in the world at all and in runs perfectly on medium quality. I think medium or low quality will be best for most users. If what you meant with gampelay was the hero's moves and how enemies fight etc, I guess then you'll just have to wait and see. The game is not meant to be hard, but I would say it's harder than Hobo Brawl, and there are 3 different difficulty settings.

Looks nice.

Thanks!

Looks great!

Kill that rabbit with a savvy move. And grill it on a BBQ for extra XP.

You CAN in fact interact with innocent animals like bunnies, but you won't be able to grill them for extra XP :)

I guess I'll leave a lenghtier comment now that I have the time. I've got to say that I've always enjoyed your art style and especially the backrounds in your games. Maybe in this game you could add checkpoints or something so that we won't have to restart a whole lot if we die during a mission. Oh and could you try adding a companion for our main hero; like a ninja who's always following us or alongside us who throws shurikens or who helps us fight in another way. (Like an archer or a swordsman) It would be so cool if it can be implemented into the game.

Everytime you finish a stage, you'll be sent to the interactive world map where your progress will automatically be saved. That's pretty much the way I implemented "checkpoints" into this game. When you die, you'll also be sent back to the map and if you have not previously completed that stage, then you'll have to go back and finish it before you'll unlock the next stage...

I have given a "companion" serious thought. I would love to do it, but I'm not sure if I will be able to do it considering my own skills as well as for technical reasons regarding the game engine. I also do not have the time. If I do it, and it is a VERY big if, then it won't be a permanent companion, but rather somebody that comes along every now and then and helps out, or it will be you stumbling upon villagers battling evil ninjas... it will be fleeting random moments. Do not expect this however, I seriously doubt I'll be able to accomplish this.

I am planning on doing games with companions that think for themselves in future games though.

Oh man, that looks great! Is it going to have unlockable fighting moves like in hobo brawl?

Yes, it will have unlockable combo moves... and more.
Glad you like the screenshot :)

looks pretty awesome.

Thanks!

I actually just meant that, seeing how sexy the graphics are, the game'll be a blast if the gameplay is as cool as the graphics. :)

Glad you like the graphics, and thanks for saying they're sexy :)
I hope the gameplay won't disappoint, I'm working hard at making it a fun experience... I think Hobo Brawl is probably the closest thing to this game (concerning gameplay) out of all my previous games.

It looks great!
I see that you have a destroyable enviorment judging by the broken barrel next to that fluffy rabbit.

Thanks!
Yeah, certain objects can be destroyed like barrels, but not everything.

The graphics just scream Castle Crashers.
It's pretty. mmm. Hopefully it plays as well as it looks.

I hope so too, I'm working hard at making sure it will play well.
I love games like Castle Crashers and it's been a definite influence.

Looking nice man, I think your a great author, and you sure do like your fighting games! =P. Your one of the few people who replys the all their reviews. This looks good and I'll play on it as soon as it comes out (If I remeber), keep up the good work ^^.

Thanks, I'll try :)

Lookin' great, can't wait to see it. You're on a power of three time right? How's that going? I'm interested to see what you're cooking up for that as well.

I'm in a team with Valerofond doing art and HappyHarry doing music. You'll just have to wait and see what we come up with :)

The game is awesome and I'm at the last boss. It is pretty repetitive though. I misssed the bird in the backround from your other games lol.

Haha! The bird died :)

Ok time for a more lenghty review now that I have the time. (I still didn't beat the last boss though)So anyways, the graphics in the game are very good as usual, the backrounds were really detailed (very nice presentation in all of your games) and the destructible environment added a new dimension to your games. Now I'm going to discuss the things less than appreciable; I was having a lot of trouble running, even though I was double tapping, the walking was kind of slow when I started the game (but it became better with the upgrades). As for the weapons, I was expecting a bow and arrow because the Japanese would use the weapon. (I also wanted to see a daimyo on horseback charging at our character lol) Anyways, apart from these minor setbacks the real big thing that I thought was a real downturn in your game is that there was no plot! No storyline! Heck, pm me or something and I'll write one for you if you desire. I was expecting a short plot or something. Also, I think that to make your games more recognizable and give them the familiar feel you should put some main characters from your others games (like the knight one) into your futur games just as a side thing or in a village and he can talk with your character or simply make a joke. You know what I mean right?

Thanks for the early game review!

It seems that quite a few people are having trouble with running. It might be that you guys double-tap the arrow keys too quickly or too slowly, once you find the right rythm, it's easy as pie! Oh, and there is kinda a plot. It's not anything spectacular, but it's there nonetheless; an evil samurai master unleashes his army onto the world and you have to stop him and rescue your buddies from slavery. I know what you mean, though. Maybe someday I'll make a game where the storyline has more weight and depth...

NINJA is a tribute to Castle Crashers, and even in that game there's just as mucb of a plot...
