These animals are very aggressive and will attack any human on sight. I don't know what to call them though. I was thinking Chargers, because when they see you, they stampede towards you. When they're close enough they jump at your face with a huge open mouth full of razor-sharp teeth! What do you guys think I should call these creatures?
I've never played it, but aren't Chargers from the L4D series (or Gears of War)? My first thought would be Leapers, but I think that's taken as well.... As an author/scriptwriter, I feel your pain for inventing names.
Somebody did mention Leapers on my facebook page before. Quite a few people liked it including me, so it's definitely a prime candidate. Thanks!
Maybe just "hounds."
Think about it. The planet's falling apart, normal earth life is being replaced by alien life. If anything, the alien life is becoming more familiar to people than normal life. Therefor, it might make sense that the humans will end up calling the alien animals by the names of their own animals.
But hey, I just think "hounds" would work for a spooky name.
Yes I can see your point and it makes sense. It is a cool spooky name and it seems a few people here on Newgrounds like it too!
Chargers and Leapers....Reminds me of binding of Issac. I agree with notthisguy, hounds sounds like a great name for them.

Okay, seems like "Hounds" are winning here on newgrounds... I'm still more partial to Leapers though. Oh well we'll see. Luckily their name is not the most important part of the game :D
idc what to call them but will there be stealth in this game
Stealth will play a small role in the game, but it will not be a big feature. Your starting weapon will be a combat knife, and when you sneak up behind an enemy, or get close enough, you can do a stealth kill move that will instantly kill your foe. That said, the game is still a lot more action-oriented and you will have to deal with most enemies head-on.
So the enemies no long explode right ? Or only certain ones will ? Well I agree with "hounds", but I was thinking what about Seekers or something, maybe these mutts could be what the aliens use to find hidden survivors, "Seekers or hunters". Those sound like great names. Just do what you think is right. Peace.
The aliens will still explode like they used to when they die, but those explosions will not hurt you anymore. All other explosions will still hurt you though.
Thanks for the feedback and name suggestions! Those creatures are much more like small angry bulls than sniffer dogs, so even though I really like "Seekers", it doesn't quite suit their character. I'm probably gonna end up calling them Leapers, Hounds, Hunters or Wargs :)
i got a idea to these things, Leapers sound great! chargers.... maybe, another enemy idea could be a infected soldier/civilian..... look like this: body is normail but the head has a alien thing on it
Actions: the human can still control himself but dont you freak out with a thing eating your skull? and you cant see anything, soldiers will shoot random into the air, civillians will run against you because they want your help getting it of. ohh.... and then their body explode cause alien get into their body and feed on them....

Honestly I wouldn't do anything too complicated. I like chargers for if I were to play the game I would know to keep my distance from these things if I have just heard about them and not encountered them before.
