Another playable character in my upcoming game "Enter The Flesh Again".
Preta, also known as Hungry Ghosts, are weak creatures with incredibly thin necks. They can only eat tiny things like moths, mushrooms and plankton. Everything else is poison to them. Their only defense is that nobody really ever notices them. Preta usually live lonely, painful lives.
I have a question, the post's name is EnterTheFleshAgain: Fauna and Flora #10 but I haven't seen any Flora, there is going to be Flora?
Oh yeah, the initial idea was to also post about the different types of plants in the game, and I've actually posted a pic on the game's facebook page with a bunch of plants in it, but I refrained from giving an explanation, because I wasn't sure what to say just yet. Then after that it kinda just became habit to post about a new creature every week or so, and a lot of these creature pics contains a unique plant, so technically there are a lot of flora in this collection of promo pics already. They just don't have explanations. I don't want to give everything away.
There are many different types of flora in the game already and they all have their own unique characteristics. A lot of plants react differently to different creatures, and a lot of creatures react differently to different plants. I'll consider posting more about flora in the future, but once this game is ready for a demo, I'll be posting gameplay vids, gifs etc showcasing the fauna and flora in action... and much much more.
The concept keeps getting interesting,I think this game is going to have a great repercussion on this site for sure.
Thanks for saying that, I really hope so.... but my goal is to release a demo on Newgrounds and hopefully sell the full game for a small price. This game is going to be pretty big for a flash game. It's already the biggest game I've ever made and it is still in early development. I'm planning on making the demo pretty big as well compared to other flash games, but not nearly as big as the full game.
Just out of curiosity, if you would find this game's demo here on Newgrounds, and if you like the game, would you consider paying something like 5 dollars for the full game? Or do you think that it's completely unfair of me? I'm really not sure how most people feel about this, but I personally don't mind giving a bit of cash for a game I really like, and at the moment it is the only way I can pay rent and buy food.
The way I've been making money up until now was by getting sponsored by sites like Newgrounds and Armor Games, but these days the money is so little that it's not even enough anymore for me to survive, so I have to try a different approach :/
My real question was if we are going to be flora but the plants are really slow so I doubt it will happen.
Oh! No, you you won't be able to play as any kind of plant, only sentient beings like animals, although it can be argued that plants are also sentient... but yeah, for gameplay reasons you won't be able to play as a plant.
Poor guys.... let me guess.... : Being evil (doing things not neccesary for your creature, like burning everything, makes your next life one these?

It also has a lot to do with your actions on the after death plane, the Bardo. The Preta are not the only creatures that you can be born into as a "punishment". Getting born as an animal like a jellyfish, for example, can also be viewed as a punishment if your previous life was that of a humanoid creature or something even higher up the chain, like a Deva.

In a way it is. According to Buddhism, Pretas are believed to have been false, corrupted, compulsive, deceitful, jealous or greedy people in a previous life. It is a bit tricky to design a game that can realise wether your previous life was lived in a false, compulsive, deceitful manner etc., but there will be many factors in the game that will influence your next birth, especially including your actions on the after death plane, the Bardo.
