Completely incomplete with awesome potential

Hitstick 2 is very stylishly done and plays very well. I usually dont like these kind of games, but found myself enjoying it a lot for the few seconds it lasted. The game gives you the idea that there's more to it, but there's not. There's only one mission in this game and it's extremely short. The art style is smooth and it looks professional, but art can only take you so far. The game literally lasted only a few seconds, the only thing that soothes the player for having to play such a short game is giving out cheats in order to play the same few seonds with invincibility or faster shooting etc...

Nowhere does it say this is a demo either, so I assume that this is supposed to be the final and complete version. Very disappointing. I liked the weapons and the pick-ups as well as the way the game played. Would have been nice to be able to duck behind objects to dodge bullets, but the most important improvement that could be made is to add more missions. Hitstick 2 has so much potential to be awesome, but it falls short with the option to actually play the game more than a few seconds.

I would really like to give this game a higher score, but it just feels incomplete... very, very incomplete. Sorry, but I can't rate this any higher than 5 out of 10.

Great game! But there's a few glitches...

Hey! I fell in love with Barbarian Bob back in 2005 and it's one of the games that inspired me to become a flash game designer. Thanks for re-doing this :)

I played it on easy but still couldnt get very far. The reason is that quite often I just can't shield. I'll have to do a 360 first before I can block again. I'd get hit once or twice everytime because of this. It happened to me with almost every enemy. Very frustrating. My game ended when I fell off a cliff :( I clicked on the continue button, but for some reason poor Bob appears off screen probably below the screen somewhere and just falls to his death again, because I'll automatically end up at the game over screen once more. I tried this a couple of times, but poor Bob just wont appear on a stable platform to continue from...

I like the new backgrounds and it's also nice to see the old ones there as well :) The music is funny and weird, I like it :)

Thanks for the review! I'll definitely put that on the list of bugs to check. Very much appreciated, sir!

I love Newvermore!

I remember the first Nevermore. I immedietely fell in love with it and it's one of the games that got me into flash. The art is brilliant and the gamplay smooth. The story and atmosphere are both very mysterious and appealing. I love it!

I wish the world was a bit more interactive and that Nevermore 3 was submitted under Adamskii's name as well and not just under 2DPLAY (the sponsors), because Adamskii made this and deserves a lot of credit.

Awesomeness!

I loved the contest of might, it is just brilliant! Picking up barrels and throwing them at your enemies is really fun and the ability to slash incoming arrows with your sword is nice as well. The art itself wasn't particularly fantastic, but the animation totally made up for it. The jumping looks funny though, but it didn't bother me that much. I love it that you can play the same levels as many times as you want and that you can exit a level anytime as well :)

Suggestions:
- I strongly suggest making separate buttons for the two different attacks.
Arrow keys to move, A = quick attack and S = heavy attack.
A and S can then both be for picking up barrels and throwing them.
- Maybe an option to block as well?
- An upgrade system (maybe asking too much)
- Different kinds of weapons.

CANT WAIT FOR THE FULL GAME!

Major glitch...

The game is alright. I didn't find anything particular special about it, but I can see how others might find it entertaining. I just felt I had to write a review to let you know about a glitch in the game. It has been mentioned before, but I think it needs to be emphaszed, cuz it ruins the whole game. At some point I could not change weapons at all. I had a rocket launcher equipped and no ammo. I couldn't change to any other weapon even though I had ammo for most of them. That basically forced to me quit the game, because I was slaughtered with no way of defending myself... bummer.

Love it!

This game is hilariously fun! Julian Montijo, you really did some nice voice-acting there and Molkman, I appreciate the detail and love you poured into this game. Cool idea and great execution. And you made the music yourself too, awesome! Exotworking kicks ass!

molkman responds:

Hehe, thanks alot. Glad you enjoyed it that much. :)

Dragamex sure did some hot magic with the voices.

Yeah Meatboy ROCKS!

Fuckin hard though.
Sweet that you can play it with an Xbox 360 controller!
Another cool creation by Edmund McMillen!

Action-packed shooter!

This did run a bit slow even on low quality, but it was great fun and very well put together. I'm not a fan of Madness, but today I definitely got into it with this game and a few other movies :) I like the DnB clown, and the ending was quite funny too! Oh, and I think the elevator was my favourite part...

This has so much potential!

Freekin great for a demo! Like many have written before me, a save option would be desirable :) The tavern where you start also looks a bit empty. Not any peasants drinkin Ale or a barman or many decorations. I like little details like that. Otherwise, the game is so complex and deep. Im not talking about the storyline at all, just the game mechanics and stats etc. Excellent job! I had a lot of fun playing it!

Awesome!

Luckily I didnt run into any glitches. The whole game was pretty damn entertaining and funny. Your coding skills are sweet as well :) And the animations look brilliant. I had to run it on 'low' quality which was a downer, but I guess with art like that you cant really expect anything else. How long did it take you to make this?
